Product Description: The year is 2271. Jonathon Quinn, decorated war hero and captain of the flagship ICS Intimidator, has been ordered to oversee Operation Giant Leap, mankinds latest attempt to shatter the technological barriers of interstellar travel. Scientists at the lunar research facility manage to create a cosmic wormhole into the Polaris System, only to make a shocking discovery. But in a universe where all is not as it seems, discovery often proves deadly. A catastrophic accident triggers a ripple effect that reaches far beyond the Solar System, provoking an ancient darkness that stalks among the stars. Mankind is plunged into chaos. Jonathon, plagued by rising casualties, begins having induced nightmares that foreshadow the enemys fierce appetite for destruction. Did the scientists grave mistake trigger the war, or would the darkness have been set in motion anyway? The answer brings Jonathon face-to-face with his own extraordinary destiny, which he must accept if he is to have any hope of altering the dire fate of all humanity. |

What if we could build a machine to guarantee survival...at all costs!
The survivors of a devastating mechanical invasion have used every possible resource to flee to Epsilon Eridani where humanity must start over. With unimaginable ingenuity and determination they build a new home in New Eden, a huge habitat orbiting the star. But despite the true pioneering spirit that keeps them alive, there is a growing division. Should humanity continue to spread among the stars, or launch a powerful counterattack and retake Earth from the mysterious enemy? Most important of all-- would a military victory be tantamount to suicide?
"Trigger" is an imaginative piece of speculative history where multiple timelines are brought together to unveil a story where grand designs cause havoc on the space-time continuum. Even the best intentions of brilliant minds and the altruistic desires of rising leaders can collide and crumble into chaos when the truth is only revealed in the shadows. |

Click Here | Product Description: Silly Daddy dares to write apocalyptic science fiction for the whole family! Deleting history was just the beginning. Blast off with STAR CHOSEN, a space opera of post-biblical proportions! After war, heartbreak, attacks to your faith, and the erasure of all history and culture, whose side will you fight on: the Proud... or the Chosen? Xeric Award winner and Ignatz Award nominee Joe Chiappetta crafts "Star Chosen," a science fiction epic for all ages. In a time yet to come, the high-tech Faith War threatens to destroy all religions across the universe. One small yet bold group, known as "the Chosen," survives due to a miraculous favor from a mysterious military man. In intergalactic combat and matters of destruction, this military man knows no equal. Yet on the home front, his family is falling apart. Unlike most families of the future, torn to bits by addiction to virtual reality products, this man's family crumbles under his terrible involvement with weapons of experimental technology. As the man continues to cross paths with the kind-hearted Chosen people, he dreams for a chance at redemption with his wife and daughter, who have disappeared to an unknown planet. About the Author Joe Chiappetta is an American author and cartoonist, grateful to be living with his wife and three children in North Riverside, Illinois. He is best known as the man behind one of the longest running autobiographical comics, "Silly Daddy," which has been a rewarding creative endeavor since 1991. The series has received the following professional recognition: - Xeric Award Winner - Ignatz Award Nominee for Outstanding Story - Harvey Award Nominee for Best New Series From his work, one can tell that Joe enjoys spending time with God, family, science fiction, and corny jokes. Also, at a moment's notice, he's usually up for a good game of chess, bike riding, building forts in the woods, and finding a big "score" of free samples while grocery shopping. Joe's latest work, "Star Chosen," was originally envisioned as a television screenplay of hour-long episodes. The novel was written almost entirely on a Pocket PC while riding Chicago's elevated trains, and took five years to complete. (edited by author) |

Click Here | Product Description: WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN LIBERATING HUMAN SLAVES IS AGAINST THE LAW?
In this "prequel" to the highly regarded science-fiction novel, The Survivors, Colonel Kendrick Landry and Major Will Adams return as the crew of the starcraft Aurora travel to Alpha Centauri B-III and learn that the descendants of the crew of The Green Horizon, Earth's first interstellar starcraft, are living in centuries-old enslavement to a lizard-like race. The lizards manage the humans with the help of renegade effete and decadent human council members that the author describes as wearing flowing robes reminiscent of Roman emperors.
The First Intergalactic Alliance does not permit liberation of the human slaves because the planet is not a member of the Alliance and subject to Alliance law.
Alliance law, however, would sanction the Aurora's defense--including even offensive action against the lizard government, permitting its overthrow by human resistance fighters on the planet--but only if the lizard government has first an attacked the Aurora.
Without knowledge or consent of Colonel Landry, Major Adams devises a scheme to provoke such an attack by the lizard command. The lizards attack the Aurora, in orbit about the planet, with devastating force. Now, the crew of the Aurora will be fortunate to ensure their own survival, let alone assist in liberation of the lizards' human slaves!
The events of Lizard's Lair occur one solar year earlier than the central story of The Survivors and sets out in full narrative detail the plot of a story briefly summarized early in The Survivors.
For those readers who might not take immediate notice, this dandy novel is not just about alien lizards! It is a modern satire on government over-reaching and institutionalized slavery, and is a highly relevant moral parable of our time.
FROM A JULY 2008 PRESS RELEASE TO THE SACRAMENTO BEE: Lizard's Lair is written in the paradigm form of a science-fiction "novella"--defined to have a word count of between 17,500 and 40,000 by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America Nebula Awards for Science Fiction. This novella is an original dandy thriller and proves that good things can indeed come in small packages. A worthy complement to Derek Laurens' already getting noticed premier science-fiction novel, The Survivors.

Atlantis 2 : A Question of Survival The quest for Freedom begins! Atlantis 2: A Question of Survival is a Mom' Choice Awards® Silver recipient and a finalist in Foreword Magazine's Book of the year Award (science-fiction category) The time is 2538, four hundred and ninety years after the ecological catastrophe known as The End. In the new world that resulted from the cataclysm, the few remaining humans are content to live in and around their city of Atlantis 2 while alien species colonize the Far Lands of the former Americas. However, whereas the humans' relationships with the aliens of the Galactic Coalition have always remained peaceful if distant from the aliens' part, the situation is now strained as for the first time since The End, the humans are preparing to explore both the sea and the stars. In this time of unusual turmoil, Nya Pavlovsky, Princess of Mankind a.k.a. galactic ambassador-in-training, is about to take over her mother's duty. With the help of both her adoptive brother, Mykel Darewing, and her Syllin friend and fellow diplomat, Aenil Sy, the young woman prepares for her upcoming challenge, namely to try and convince the aggressive Gorgons to allow her people to finally reach the stars of the coalition. Unbeknownst to her, though, her destiny, as well as her friends' and peoples', are about to take most unexpected turns as the belligerent Gorgons plan to attack them. Meanwhile, further away, the well-concealed Supreme Ruler of the galaxy keeps a wary eye on the free humans of 5-B4 (a.k.a. Earth) for if they were to slip past his various means of deceit and control, they would lethally challenge his absolute, unknown and based-on-lies hegemony of the whole galaxy. |
