Princess Leia (played by Carrie Fisher) is an important character in Episode IV: A New Hope, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
In Episode IV: A New Hope, Princess Leia hides the plans to the Death Star inside the astromech Droid R2-D2. These plans later allow the Rebel Alliance to develop a plan for successfully attacking and destroying the Death Star.
In Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Princess Leia helps with the evacuation of Hoth, and escapes with Han Solo to Cloud City. Han Solo is captured by Darth Vader, but Leia, Chewbacca, C-3PO, and R2-D2 escape. Leia senses that Luke Skywalker is still at Cloud City and they go back to rescue him.
In Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, she participates in the ground battle on Endor. Just before the battle, she finds out for the first time that she is Luke Skywalker's twin sister.
