When David Innes and Abner Perry set out to search for mineral deposits in Perry's newly invented Mechanical Prospectro, they never dreamed of discovering the beautiful, terrifying world of Pellucidar five hundred miles beneath their feet. Cast into a country of fierce fighting men, beautiful women, and vicious beasts, David and Abner take sharply diverging paths. David and his mate, Dian the Beautiful, set out to teach Pellucidar the ways of civilization and succeed in gathering a number of primitive kingdoms into the Empire of Pellucidar. Meanwhile, Abner turns his inventive genius to the science of aeronautics, with dire results for both David and Dian. The seventh and final book in Edgar Rice Burroughs's Pellucidar series, Savage Pellucidar continues the epic story with a masterful blend of action, humor, and suspense. |

Click Here | Product Description: Tanar of Pellucidar is a novel written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the third in his series set in the interior world of Pellucidar. It first appeared as a six-part serial in The Blue Book Magazine from March-August 1929. It was first published in book form in hardcover by Metropolitan Books in May, 1930.
The author’s friend Jason Gridley is experimenting with a new radio frequency he dubs the Gridley Wave, via which he picks up a transmission sent by scientist Abner Perry, from the interior world of Pellucidar at the Earth's core, a realm discovered by the latter and his friend David Innes many years before. There Innes and Perry have established an Empire of Pellucidar, actually a confederation of tribes, and attempted with mixed success to modernize the stone-age natives. Lately things have not gone well, and Innes is currently held captive in an enemy realm. Perry transmits a lengthy account of how this has come about, as reported by Innes’ native comrade in arms Tanar, and appeals for aid from the outer world. |

This is indeed a rare bit of fantasy. An adventurer bivouacked for the night on the torrid sands of the Sahara Desert is awakened by a staccato sound coming from the earth beneath his head. Digging, he unearthed a box containing telegraph instruments from which a cable extended straight down through the earth. In this box he found a slip of paper initialed D.I. Knowing that eleven years ago in this arid spot two prospectors had tunnelled their way to the core of the earth, he recalled that one was David Innes who Mr. Burroughs had chronicled on that earth-ward trip. He immediately informed Mr. Burroughs of his find. Mr. Burroughs hastened to the spot and soon was in telegraphic communication with David Innes. From the core of the earth comes a strange and marvelous account of his exploration of the Great Empire of Pellucidar, its people, gigantic animals, grotesque beauty, its perpetual sun and his love and hazardous search for Dian the Beautiful. Mr. Burroughs has given us this story just as he received it by telegraph from David Innes in Pellucidar, five hundred miles beneath this earth's surface.
