In the Star Wars films, C-3PO is a Droid created by Anakin Skywalker (although he serves several masters at differnet points in the story). He is one of very few characters to appear in all six Star Wars movies, and is played by the same actor, Anthony Daniels in each of the movies.
Most of the time, C-3PO is accompanied by R2-D2, an astromech droid.
