In a nutshell:
Peter Jackson's (the director of *LORD OF THE RINGS* and *KING KONG* fame) first movie and very different from the stuff that he is now known for. This is a low budget sci-fi comedy gore-fest - very silly, very funny - but a strong stomach is essential.
Plot Synopsis (may include spoilers):
Aliens invade New Zealand - planning to turn humans into fast food.
Best Bits:
- Hilariously funny
- Compellingly gross
- Derek's injury
Worst Bits:
- The gruel sequence (warning: do not eat while watching this movie!)
- The low budget shows through in some places (some special effects, same actors in several roles)
