Android is a word for a human-shaped Robot.

*DATA* in *STAR TREK TNG* is an example of an android.

In some science fiction stories, the term Android is used to describe organic artificial persons`. For example in Blade Runner, the Replicants are artificial organic humans, perhaps *CLONES*. Although never referred to as Androids in the movie, the movie is based on Philip K. Dick's book entitled Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
